Work in our ChildSafe organisation to support the mission, vision and values of The Salvation Army as part of the Ballarat Neighborhood House Team.

Achieve tertiary student placement goals as outlined in the placement agreement within the general outline below.

ROLE TASKS

Provide Professional Support
- Shadow Neighborhood House staff to understand community development principles and possible opportunities to provide support.
- Meet with community members in groups and one on one to provide skills in social work, case management, counselling or other service reflecting the course of study and the agreed tertiary placement tasks and outcomes

Contribute to development
- Give feedback and suggest ideas re how improvements could be made
- Work with the team to achieve any extra delegated project goals

ENVIRONMENT
- Work with integrity and professionalism at all times
- Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Work according to all TSA policies and procedures
- Contribute to ensuring a safe work environment is maintained for all.
- Respect and look after organisational property
- Work at a site collocated with a childcare centre and interacting with families

Training Required

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND QUALITIES
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd year student progressing toward a tertiary qualification
- Experience working in O365 suite of products particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and self-motivated to work effectively independently and supporting others in a team
- Ability to work delegated boundaries and seek clarity when unsure
- Good match for the team and TSA values
