Accounts Payable Officer

One of our clients, a local council within the Langwarrin area, is looking for a Accounts Payable Officer to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role, however, will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 8.30am and will end at 5.00pm

Pay Rate: $35.11 - $37.67 Per Hour + Superannuation.

Starting: ASAP.

The purpose of the role is to provide an efficient, timely and accurate service for payment processing and general ledger allocations of all accounts for payment. Also providing timely and accurate processing of electronic workflows for invoices/payables, whilst having a high level of customer service to Council officers and suppliers.

**You will Need**:
Previous experience in high volume creditors environment or data entry environment.

Time management skills and ability to identify priorities and self-manage workloads.

An effective team player, along with the ability to work cooperatively and positively in a sensitive and confidential environment.

Developed oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and work demands.

Excellent customer service skill including the ability to deal with difficult customers.

High level of attention to detail and the ability to accurately enter and retrieve data.

A current Victorian driver’s license.

**You will be**:
Ensuring the Creditor Masterfile is kept up to date by notifying the responsible officer(s) of any changes to creditor details that require updating.

Completing the processing and follow up of invoices as outlined in procedures, ensuring that invoices are paid correctly and on time.

Reviewing monthly statements ensuring any outstanding invoices are followed up and paid.

Assisting with the maintenance of financial system (Accounts Payable) integrity, reviewing procedures when required.

Addressing and responding to customer/creditor enquiries and follow up any outstanding items with responsible officers.

Please Note - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status will all need to be obtained upon placement.
