**The organisation**:
Bloom is partnering with the newly-created National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA).
NATSIHA's purpose is to facilitate access to quality, accessible, affordable, and culturally appropriate housing to help empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities to optimise their health and wellbeing and improve their employment opportunities, access to education, connection to community and sense of home.
This is a unique opportunity to join the national peak body organisation at the start of the journey, as they work to grow and strengthen the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing sector. NATSIHA will lead the way in implementing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Data Strategy that is underpinned by the principles of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and will support capability building across the sector to harness data as a cultural, strategic and economic asset.
**The Role**:
The role of a Data and Research Analyst is crucial in ensuring evidence-based decision-making, effective policy development, and the improvement of services and outcomes related to Aboriginal housing. You will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data and research related to housing issues within the Aboriginal community.
This role is instrumental in supporting evidence-based decision-making, fostering positive change, and working towards improving housing conditions and opportunities for the Aboriginal community.
**Responsibilities**:
- Data Management and collection of relevant housing, demographics and socioeconomic indicators ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date and stored securely.
- The use of various analytical tools and techniques to process and analyse the collected data.
- Research and reporting on housing-related topics, prepare reports and presentations, which can be used by to advocate for policy changes and funding.
- Policy Development to provide data-driven recommendations and insights to assist in the formulation of effective strategies and initiatives that address housing issues within the Aboriginal community.
- Monitoring and evaluation of the performance and impact of housing programs and policies which involves tracking relevant indicators, assessing outcomes, and identifying areas for improvement.
**Skills and Experience**:
- 2 years working within a similar analyst role across Housing or a NFP Organisation
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Strong SQL knowledge and data analysis programming language
- Strong statistical software experience and database management knowledge eg. Python, Trifacta, MySQL, Power BI
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable)
- Passionate about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community with ties to the people and culture
