**Position Information**:
Ermington Public School is an innovative, dynamic school inspiring all students to be Engaged, Proud and Successful. The school is situated in West Ryde within the Ryde Network of schools and has an enrolment of 450 students, inclusive of two opportunity classes which cater for high potential and gifted students. The school consists of a diverse student population which includes 71% of students from a language background other than English, a small number of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and students with varying academic and social emotional needs.
Ermington Public school is staffed by teachers who pride themselves on the ability to utilise current trends, research and evidence-based practice to form the basis of teaching and learning programs. The school provides a variety of extra-curricular programs including sporting and performing arts to engage all learners. Relationships between students, teachers and the community are positive and respectful.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach K-6. Approval to teach primary English as a second language or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language K-6 as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to work collaboratively to foster positive relationships with staff, families and the wider community.
- Demonstrated evidence of understanding and using the EALD learning progressions to inform effective teaching and learning and to inform school directions.
- Evidence of effective data-driven practices to inform explicit teaching and learning programs that differentiate for individual student needs.

**About the NSW Department of Education**
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language (K-6 or secondary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
This is a permanent part time position for 3 days per week, 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
