Parramatta West Public School is a large and growing school of over 920 students. Over 94% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds, with 82% requiring some level of EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) support. Our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. The staff have a range of experiences, from beginning teachers to teachers with many years in classrooms. This includes undertaking activities to meet student learning outcomes as well as special activities including dance, music, sport, debating, drama and STEM enrichment programs.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach primary English as a Second Language or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.

2. Demonstrated expertise to develop and implement differentiated, data-driven teaching and learning programs K-6, using knowledge of the EAL/D Learning Progression and ESL Scales, that cater for the needs of learners from diverse backgrounds, including New Arrival students.

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others, in a co-teaching environment, to deliver scaffolded, differentiated curriculum across all key learning areas with an understanding of quality EAL/D pedagogical practices that are grounded in evidence informed research.

4. Ability to engage professionally with colleagues and the wider culturally diverse school community to build and foster positive partnerships.
