**What You Will Be Doing**

We are seeking enthusiastic AHAs that are keen to develop skills in the inpatient setting and are quick to learn. These limited term roles can launch your AHA career at Peninsula Health and beyond

Our Allied Health Assistants are an essential and valued part of our occupational therapy teams across Peninsula Health. You will work closely with our team of occupational therapists to promote excellent clinical care, interventions and discharges.

Clinical areas that you may experience are neurology, orthopaedics, amputees, cardio-respiratory and palliative care. Our AHAs play a significant role in the sourcing and provision of equipment, retraining in daily occupations, upper limb therapy programs and patient education.

**What You Need**

We anticipate you will have:

- Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance from an RTO.
- Experience working in acute or rehabilitation inpatient setting
- Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.
- Ability to provide individual therapy and education to patients as prescribed by the occupational therapist.

**Additional Requirements**

This role must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and meet the requirements of the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.

Essential: Understanding of human development and medical conditions, as relevant to the role.

Essential: Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.

Essential: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with supervision.

Essential: Willingness to learn and develop new skills through direction and feedback.

Essential: Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Essential: Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills.
