Rubix Solutions is representing a leading defence consultancy, offering multiple opportunities for experienced Cyber Security Specialists. These roles are within the Enterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) of the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) at the Department of Defence.
- 12 month contract - possible 2 x 12 month extensions
- 1st July start date
- Multiple locations: VIC, NSW, ACT
- Rate: $110 - $130 /hour

As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and integrity of critical defence IT systems and infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing expertise in cyber security, project governance, technical assurance, and stakeholder management within complex defence IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive reviews of technical designs and develop relevant documentation to ensure compliance with cyber security standards and protocols.
- Identify vulnerabilities and security issues within defence IT systems and infrastructure, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project governance requirements are met and maintained.
- Utilize your expertise in cyber security to assess and enhance the security posture of defence IT environments.
- Provide technical assurance and guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to cyber security best practices and standards.
- Actively monitor and respond to cyber security incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain a high level of familiarity with terrestrial communications systems, leveraging this knowledge to enhance cyber security measures.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cyber security policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Stay abreast of emerging cyber security threats and trends, recommending proactive measures to mitigate risks.

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security or IT Security roles, preferably within complex defence IT environments.
- Existing NV1 security clearance or above is mandatory.
- ICT Security aligned Degree or Masters in Cyber Security
- CEH, CISM, CompTIA, Security+, CISA certifications Desirable
- Experience with Terrestrial Communications highly desirable, or within the telecommunication sector
- Proven experience working in complex defence IT environments
- High familiarity with project governance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Security and Technical Assurance expertise
- Ability to review technical designs and develop relevant documentation
- Identify vulnerabilities and security issues
