**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of a Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Assistant Director, Security Policy within the Security Enabling Services Branch.
The Security Enabling Services Branch is responsible for broader security functions to support the business of DPS and APH security arrangements, engaging with many different APH security stakeholders, including the AFP, the Department of the House of Representatives, the Department of the Senate, the Ministerial Wing Support and other entities within the Parliamentary precincts.

- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead, manage and develop a small team to deliver security policy and procedures for the Australian Parliament House (APH) and Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS).
- Effectively manage relevant requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Develop and, where applicable, monitor and report on implementation of policy and procedural outcomes to provide assurance of compliance and/or achievement of the objectives.
- Provide advice to the Branch’s executive team on complex issues, including preparation of formal briefing and agenda papers for decision-makers.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across Parliamentary Departments and internally, to support outcomes and business requirements.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture by mentoring staff, supporting professional development, and modelling DPS values and leadership in promoting a positive security culture at APH.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
