**The Role**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
As a **Skills Program Assistant Director** you will be required to:

- lead, supervise, train, guide and support diverse teams across multiple geographic locations comprising of multiple sub-teams of assessment officers
- manage competing priorities and monitor and review your team’s performance, including data analytics, and delegate work accordingly, reporting on emerging trends or issues to the Director
- resolve complex case support including client escalation
- show initiative and identify, implement, and promote improved work practices
- support the Director by leading and contributing to strategic policy and program design relating to skills assessment services across Trades Recognition Australia
- strategic planning to sustain efficient and effective program delivery on an ongoing basis.

As a
**Skills Policy Assistant Director,** you will be required to:

- lead research and policy advice on skills assessments to support the ongoing delivery of the skilled migration program and effective policy settings for the assessing authority sector
- engage with internal and external stakeholders to build networks, support continual improvement across the assessing authority sector, and monitor effective delivery of skills assessment to support skilled migration
- use evidence from research, data analysis and evaluation activities to inform policy thinking around skills assessments, including by making recommendations about potential improvements within the context of the Government’s broader agenda for skilled migration
- manage staff and teams, including mentoring, guiding, supporting, and developing team members
- manage complex strategic projects commissioned to guide the delivery of best practice skills assessments and to effectively support skilled migration.
