Cultural Safety Project Officer

**Summary of the role**
The Cultural Safety Project Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Cultural Safety Program.
The following key duties are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.
In accordance with principles of workplace diversity, workplace participation, safe working environment and the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, you will undertake the following tasks either individually or as a member of a team.
**Key Duties**
1. Support the successful delivery of AIDA’s Cultural Safety Program including:
a. Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the AIDA Cultural Safety Program.
b. High profession standard in delivery of the Cultural Safety Program to support participants and facilitators.
c. Oversee workshops logistics, resources, and materials.
d. Provide feedback to the Cultural Safety Programs Coordinator.
e. Provide project support on duties associated with AIDA’s online Cultural Awareness course.
f. Provide reporting, briefings papers and presentation.
2. Ensure that the medical colleges Continuing Profession Development (CPD) accreditation points are updated and maintained.
3. Demonstrate a sound understanding of current and historical issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
4. Communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
5. Other duties within your capabilities as directed.
**Selection Criteria**
- **Skills and Experience**_
Essential
- Demonstrated awareness of the importance of cultural safety, preferably within the context of the health or education systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing work priorities in order to deliver quality outcomes within short timeframes and with mínimal supervision.
- Communicate with Cultural Safety Program Coordinator to ensure and include that:
- Workshops operate in an efficient manner for facilitators and participants - evidenced by smooth operation, all materials and resources are distributed.
- Identify any issues that may arise in the Cultural Safety Program operations, stakeholder engagement and any potential problems in the delivery of the face to face or the online service - evidenced by moderate risk to the overall progression of the Cultural Safety Program.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, online eLearning systems, online booking systems and other software used to deliver programs, or an ability to learn systems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to use initiative and problem solving to achieve results in accordance with practices and policies.
- High level attention to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly within a team to meet key deliverables.
**Desirable**
Knowledge and experience working across health care and services sector providing care to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
- Experience in the development of training programs, including online and face to face or hybrid models.
- Experience and knowledge of the utilisation of online platforms designed and delivered for online learning including Learning Management Systems and its functionality.
