**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Studio Technician to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.
The Studio Technician provides technical expertise within the CIESJ Studios & Production team in support of the Faculty’s event, academic and research endeavours. The role is responsible for the effective, safe and sustainable operation of a range of activities within studio, production and performance facilities and their equipment. The incumbent will maintain awareness of current support requirements, and emerging industry related technologies, and will contribute to the continual improvement of technical services supporting the Faculty’s Research and Learning and Teaching programs.

The Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice is led by the Executive Dean and the Faculty Executive team comprising the Executive Dean, Deputy Dean, Heads of School, Associate Dean Learning and Teaching, Associate Dean Research, and Faculty Operations Manager.
The faculty is comprised of the following Schools under the leadership of the respective Head of School:
- School of Communication
- School of Creative Practice
- School of Design
- School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education
- School of Teacher Education and Leadership
- School of Justice
In addition, specialist Faculty professional functions include
- Faculty Operations: Budget and Planning, School Administration Support, Space, Equipment and Assets, and Technical Services teams under the leadership of the Faculty Operations Manager
- Office of the Deputy Dean: Engagement, and Student Specialist Support under the leadership of the Deputy Dean
- Office of the Executive Dean under the leadership of the Executive Dean
**What you need to succeed**
To thrive in this role, you will be proactive and dependable, with a desire to make a positive impact on the experience of our students.
You will demonstrate:
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor degree in related field; an Associate Diploma level qualification with at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, or training.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively connect and collaborate with colleagues and work in teams in a creative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace and participate in change and to effectively organise and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and competing priorities, without compromising quality in a technical environment.
