**The Opportunity**

Our Port Kembla Springhill Manufacturing facility is looking for a **Mechanical Fitter** in our** Paint Finishing Department **based in **Port Kembla**. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

**What will you do?**
- isolate equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance
- inspect production and quality critical equipment and fault find
- resolve issues and fix any non-conformances
- seek ways to continuously improve our maintenance practices and strategies
- plan and organise for shutdowns via our maintenance management system (SAP)
- provide supply, stock and purchase requisitions, schedules, work orders, and parts listing via the use of the computerised maintenance management system

**More About You**

You will be motivated and have a strong technical background with the ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment. You will also have:

- mechanical trade qualifications, with the desire to progress to a Diploma of Mechanical Engineering if not already current
- experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment conducting a maintenance function
- experience with coordinating work using a computerised maintenance management system
- experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
