**OHS / Labourer - Aged Care Renovation Project**

**The Opportunity**

We're seeking a meticulous OHS-focused labourer for a complex aged care renovation project within a live, operating aged care facility. This role demands someone who understands that resident safety isn't negotiable and that construction activity must seamlessly integrate with daily care operations without compromise.

**Key Responsibilities**

**OHS Systems Management (WorxSafety Platform)**:

- Maintain and administer cloud-based WorxSafety compliance system
- Verify all trade contractor documentation: licences, insurances, certifications, qualifications
- Review and validate Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for all site activities
- Assign SWMS to appropriate trades and ensure proper sign-off protocols
- Process and track worker inductions and site access authorizations
- Create custom induction forms and compliance documentation as project requirements evolve
- Maintain comprehensive site diary including daily activities, incidents, near-misses, and observations
- Document incident reports with thorough investigation and corrective action tracking

**Site Safety & Infection Control**:

- Manage physical separation systems: hoarding, zipwalls, demarcation zones
- Conduct daily inspections of demarcation integrity between construction zones and resident areas
- Maintain dust control measures and contamination prevention protocols
- Meet with centre facility management on a regular basis to co-ordinate and collaborate for works.
- Monitor noise levels and construction activity timing to minimize resident disruption
- Proactively assess daily work schedules against resident routines (meal times, therapy sessions, sleep patterns.

**Site Operations & Coordination**:

- Act as authorized company representative during site manager/assistant manager absence
- Control site access, delivery scheduling, and contractor coordination if management is absent
- Direct logistics for material deliveries to minimize facility disruption
- Open/close site and secure construction zones daily when site management is not available
- Maintain site cleanliness including amenities, welfare facilities, and access routes
- Provide skilled labour support to lead carpenters as workflow requires

**Facility Integration**:

- Regular liaison with aged care management regarding construction impacts
- Coordinate construction activities around resident care schedules and facility operations
- Anticipate and mitigate potential conflicts between trades activity and resident safety/comfort
- Respond immediately to facility concerns or incidents

**Essential Requirements**
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Demonstrated experience with digital OHS compliance systems (WorxSafety experience advantageous)
- Strong administrative capability and attention to detail
- Practical understanding of SWMS development and risk assessment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and work schedules
- Valid driver's licence
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

**Highly Regarded**
- Previous OHS or labourer experience on healthcare renovation sites (aged care, hospitals, medical centres)
- Experience working within live, occupied facilities during construction
- First Aid certification
- Carpentry or general construction trade background
