Opal Australian Paper is a vertically integrated manufacturer of pulp and paper, and Australia’s only manufacturer of copy, printing and inkjet papers.

Our Maryvale paper mill in the beautiful Latrobe Valley opened in 1937 and has since grown to be one of the largest employers in the region, manufacturing close to 600,000 tonnes of paper and board annually.

Partnering with sales, operations and supply chain functions, the Supply Planning Manager is responsible for refining and optimising the supply and production planning processes across the Mill to deliver superior customer service at agreed inventory levels and cost. Leading a team of four planners, this will include;
- Managing the Master Production Schedule balancing operational efficiency, inventory targets and customer demand
- Liaising with logistics and Customer Service to manage distribution requirements to meet customer targets
- Leading the response to Supply decisions in times of critical supply issues to ensure continuity of supply to Opal sites and strategic customers
- Managing inventory policy and management of all product inventory for the Maryvale site.
- Collaborating with business resources and stakeholders to ensure all the information requirements on capacity planning and network modelling are accurate
- Identifying Supply Chain Improvement Opportunities to deliver reduction of costs, reduced inventories or an improvement in service levels
- Contributing to divisional S&OP Planning
- Providing operational and thought leadership to the Supply Planning/Scheduling team and contributing to Opal wide supply chain improvement initiatives and projects.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Supply Planning Manager to continue their career with one of Australia’s largest manufacturing companies (whilst also enjoying a tree-change)

We expect you will have;
- At least 10 years’ experience in Supply Planning/Production Scheduling/Inventory Management in a continuous manufacturing environment (glass, paper, metals smelter ideal)
- Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Sound leadership capability; able to inspire and get the best out of your team
- A strong continuous improvement mind-set
- Excellent commercial acumen and well advanced analytical skills
- Degree qualifications in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering
