**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
**Position**

Your expertise will ensure all developments comply with statutory requirements, contributing to safe, high-quality outcomes for the community.

**To be successful you will bring**
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
- Tertiary qualifications in building surveying.
- Minimum NSW Fair Trading Accreditation as Building Surveyor restricted (all classes of buildings) (formerly A2).
- Demonstrated extensive and relevant experience in development control and building surveying.
- Demonstrated experience in carrying out the following certification work on class 1-10 buildings: a) acting as a Principal Certifier; b) issue Complying Development Certificates, Construction Certificates, and Occupation Certificates under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979; c) carrying out critical stage inspections.
- Demonstrated experience in carrying out certification work on swimming pools under the NSW Swimming Pools Act, or as an authorised officer of Council.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution and the ability to provide technical reports.
- Proven well developed analytical skills and problem solving skills with a track record of success in providing advice to a diverse internal and external customer base in a courteous and professional manner.
