Environmental Planner

ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner/Consultant to be based in Tasmania to work on major projects approvals and environmental impact assessment processes, with a focus on renewables and major infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Environmental Planner/Consultant, your technical consulting and client relationship skills will support the growth of ERM’s business and client base. You will have access to ERM’s global Impact Assessment Technical Community, sharing multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional looking to advance their career level with a global environmental leader on both local and international projects.
Key Responsibilities to Include:
- Development environmental impact assessments and managing complex approvals processes.- Project manage multiple projects within scope and budget and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients.- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar.- Minimum 7 years’ experience in statutory planning and/or environmental approvals.- Familiarity with Commonwealth and Tasmanian environmental legislation- Broader experience in legislation of other jurisdictions, environmental management and stakeholder management would be viewed favourably.- Well-developed team building and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.- Experience building sustaining relationships with a range of clients.- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and people skills.- Authorisation to work in Australia.
