We are seeking to appoint an Associate to support Her Honour Judge Hogan, who sits exclusively in the criminal division of the Court (fixed term 12 months).
The County Court of Victoria is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria and its criminal division embraces all indictable offences, except treason and murder. Judges in the criminal division also sit on appeal for decisions from the Magistrates' Court.
The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings in multiple regional cities throughout Victoria. Her Honour and her staff usually undertake two such circuits of several weeks each year.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, keen attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to communicate intelligently and with discretion on matters relating to Court processes.
