Associate to Her Honour Judge Davis, County Court

We are seeking to appoint an Associate to support Her Honour Judge Davis at the County Court of Victoria for a fixed term contract of 12 months (with the possibility to extend for a further 12 months).
The County Court of Victoria is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears and determines criminal, common law and commercial matters. The Court hears more than 12,000 cases per year across the three divisions. The County Court is committed to continuous improvement in accordance with the International Framework for Court Excellence.
Her Honour Judge Davis hears matters in both the common law and criminal jurisdictions.
The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings in multiple regional cities throughout Victoria. Her Honour and her staff usually attend two circuits of several weeks each year.
The appointed associate will work in a small team with one other associate to provide administrative and legal support to Her Honour. The work of the team sits within a complex, demanding and sensitive environment.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, superior written, verbal and computer skills, the ability to communicate intelligently and with discretion on matters relating to court processes, sound judgement, the ability to work well under pressure and a drive to succeed.
