Teacher - Primary - Auslan - Stafford State School

The successful applicant will have highly developed communication skills for delivering programs to Deaf/ hard of hearing students that use Auslan and/or spoken language and listening. They will be:
- Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique learning pathways of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
- Responsible for evaluating language and assessing student progress against individual learning programs
- Responsible for providing instruction and support in curriculum areas, making appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
- Able to interpret hearing/audiological medical reports as they relate to educational environments.
- Consulting with allied health professionals, classroom teachers, students, and parents concerning appropriate evaluations, modifications, and supports.
- Writing and implementing individual student goals, objectives and language experience and enrichment programs.
- Evaluating student performance according to the goals and objectives on HICP or ICPs
- Maintaining required student records for bespoke reporting as needed
- Maintaining contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.
- Attending meetings, workshops, and training in the field of Deafness.
