Our guest’s first experience with the Tasmanian Walking Company is with you As a Reservations and Sales Consultant you will be our walker’s first point of contact and you will help provide each guest with the ultimate experience on our walks. You will form an integral part of our reservations team and be responsible for facilitating bookings, processing our guest’s personal information, and offering expert advice to ensure each of our walkers has the best possible experience. Offered on a full-time basis in Hobart or Hadspen, you will have a team of passionate professionals behind you, engaging with your ongoing development and learning.

We work to deliver true Tasmanian hospitality as we create connections between people and place in remote cultural landscapes. Whilst our roots lie in Tassie, we additionally operate on mainland Australia as **The Australian Walking Company**, delivering a unique lodge-based walking experience at the Twelve Apostles Walk along the Great Ocean Road.

We are expanding as we introduce a number of new walks across Tasmania and mainland Australia. We hold a shared mission - to provide superb, guided journeys out of everyday life into wild land and seascapes; and the shared values of - belonging, genuine fun, wowing guests, environmental and cultural integrity, simplicity and passionate leadership.

As one of our esteemed Reservations Consultants, of course you will be jumping onto our walks Get to familiarise yourself with our eco-lux lodges so that you know exactly which walk to recommend to our guests.

**About You**

You need to be genuinely customer focused, positive, enthusiastic, self-reliant, autonomous, and have a keen sense of adventure whilst maintaining a strong eye for detail. You have a passion for providing the very best in adventure and ecotourism, and ensuring we meet our guests' high expectations.
- Relevant knowledge of the Tasmanian tourism industry, hospitality industry, and an understanding of outdoor travel experiences
- Previous experience in a customer service or reservations role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a great team environment and embrace a strong, vibrant company culture
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills
- An ability to make timely and accurate decisions in high-pressure environments
- Confident and capable using access databases and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work well in a close-knit team environment
- Work in a high-pressure environment during periods of strong business demand
- Skill and ability to proactively sell or upsell product as required
- Conflict resolution skills
- Able to work weekends as required

**Desirable Experience (not essential)**
- Diploma of Tourism and Travel or similar tertiary qualification
- Hands on experience with information technology systems; telephony systems; network administration or similar
- Guiding experience
- Financial experience such as banking reconciliation, processing payments, refunds, and auditing
