**About the Opportunity**

The Strategic Engagement Officer - Aboriginal Engagement will develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies to support the University’s Strategic Plan of Aboriginal Engagement. In addition, this role will:

- Design, initiate and implement Indigenous engagement activities at the University through evaluative research, analysis, and interpretation of data to inform resource allocation, operational planning and reporting.
- Develop and deliver a range of best practice engagement strategies to support and develop a highly visible and meaningful Indigenous presence at the University.
- Build, implement and analyse surveys on Indigenising the curriculum, Indigenous research and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student experience.
- Provide high level advice, support and assistance to all levels of leadership in the development and delivery of Indigenous Strategic priorities.
- Manage digital and other engagement initiatives to Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff, students, and other stakeholders and create of a wide range of relevant resources.
- Drive and lead implementation of staff development activities.

**What’s Required**
- Experience in effective project management including the ability to perform a diverse range of broad and detailed tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and verbal communication skills,
- Proven ability to provide executive project and research support, including the ability to analyse and prepare comprehensive reports, minutes, and other associated documentation.
- Highly developed administration and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to exercise judgment on work methods and task sequence in order to meet deadlines.
- Combination of extensive relevant experience and training in Indigenous studies, business studies or other relevant field of study, or completion of a degree with experience, or equivalent combination.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration in Tasmania - Employment category or ability to obtain prior to appointment.
