**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking our next Head of School, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences to join the Faculty of Science at QUT.

As Head of School, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the Faculty of Science’s strategic direction, facilitate collaborative initiatives, and shape the future of the faculty. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering outstanding student experiences and fostering impactful research outcomes.

**About the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences**

The Head of School for the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is one of our most vibrant areas within the Faculty of Science at QUT. We specialise in understanding fundamental chemical and physical processes that operate across Earth’s physical spheres. As researchers and educators, we are motivated by the need to solve current global challenges such as the state of the atmosphere, greenhouse gas emissions, energy and resource sustainability, and future planetary habitability.

**What you need to succeed**

Your experience as an established or aspiring leader combined with your experience in facilitating high-quality and impactful education and research will be critical to your success as Head of School.

You’ll need:

- A doctoral qualification or equivalent in STEM with proven leadership and achievement at a senior level.
- Demonstrated success in academic leadership including the significant enhancement of education and expansion in research.
- Proven experience in budget and resource management and strategic planning.
- Ability to develop effective teams, exercise conflict management skills and manage complex interdisciplinary relationships in an academic setting.
- Sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to generate trust, lead and facilitate change.
