**What you need to succeed**

You will demonstrate:
**Selection Criteria**

1. A PhD or equivalent training and expertise in a relevant field (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering).
2. Demonstrated experience in developing enzyme assays and troubleshooting heterologous expression of functional enzymes.
3. Demonstrated experience in analytical chemistry for biochemicals (e.g. via LC-MS/MS or GC-MS).
4. Demonstrated experience and contemporary expertise in at least one area of metabolic engineering or protein engineering.
5. High skill level in project documentation and communication (written and interpersonal).
6. Skills in problem solving, experimental planning, and critically assessing existing literature and methods.

**Additional Criteria for Level B**:
7. Proven ability to plan and execute research independently, manage multiple research projects, and operate to a milestone-driven research plan.
