**About the Role**

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable **Mental Health Support Worker** to provide after-school care for a young individual living with ADHD and complex behavioural challenges. With a Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) in place, the role focuses on fostering independence, supporting daily routines, and encouraging active community participation to help the individual achieve their goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with after-school routines, ensuring a structured and supportive environment.
- Implement the Behavior Support Plan to manage and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Facilitate community participation and social engagement activities.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to build confidence and life skills.
- Maintain clear communication with family members and relevant professionals.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that promotes well-being.

**Essential Criteria**
- Qualification in disability, mental health, or related field (desirable)
- Experience working with people with complex mental illness providing behavourial support
- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
- A current NDIS Worker Clearance
- A Working with Children’s Check
- Evidence of rights to work in Australia
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Australian Driver's License with full comprehensive insurance.

**Availability: Monday, Tuesday and Friday - 02:30 PM- 06:30 PM**

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $40.00 - $68.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- On call
- Shift work

**Experience**:

- complex behavior/mental health support: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- Drivers Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)

Work Location: In person
