Cyber Security Operations
- Collaborate with the outsourced security operations center (SOC) - Ensuring advanced threat technologies are configured to vendor specifications, alerts are reviewed and acted upon, and underlying processes and technologies are continuously refined to keep up with evolving risk.
- Be a key contact for incident response, containment, and remediation, ensuring response measures are prompt to minimize downstream business impacts.
- Participate in operational change management and ensure security related changes are adequately tested prior and post implementation, to reduce business impacts.
- Cyber Security Governance and Assurance
- Support the cyber security assurance program, assisting audit activities and owning the remediation of findings.
- Conduct reviews and health checks, such as the security controls relating to GS007 compliance and user access management.
- Support an effective cyber security assurance strategy over third parties / suppliers, enabling the business to engage with strategic partners without taking excessive risk. Conduct third party reviews when required.

Cyber Security Awareness
- Support cyber security awareness campaigns (face-to-face presentations, phishing simulations, and blogs) to raise awareness of emerging threats and response measures.
- Undertake regular education on current security and risk topics

Cyber Security Strategy and Architecture
- Actively participate in cyber security strategy formulation, prioritizing the protection of mission critical digital assets and maximizing the value of security investments.
- Project-manage the implementation of key cyber security initiatives take ownership of outcomes - working closely and collaboratively with IT teams during the design, implementation, and testing phases.
- Maintain a robust enterprise security architecture framework, ensuring that new systems are secure by design, fault-tolerant and architected in-line with industry reference standards.
- Actively engage in business projects, conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, controls design as well as validate the design and implementation of key controls.
- Drive security initiatives to align technical services with security policies

Your skills & experience

To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified, ideally working towards CISSP or CISM and have at least 5 years in cyber security design / operations / IT systems engineering as well as a ground-level understanding of security technologies (experience deploying and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems, server hardening & patching, M365 & Azure configuration, Endpoint Protection solutions, Vulnerability Management, Firewall configuration, user access management, data loss prevention tools).

In addition, your communication and influencing skills will be excellent and you are able to work autonomously taking end to end accountability of strategic initiatives. You are able confront unconventional challenges and make risk-informed business decisions, whilst collaborating with various levels of stakeholders, whilst driving outcomes to maximise the value of security investments.
