**About the role**:

- This is a newly created Aboriginal-identified role provides coordination and leadership on developing culturally safe and trauma-informed models of care with a particular focus on the Adult Survivors Program (ASP), Violence, Abuse and Neglect Services and related PARVAN initiatives and programs including the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Program. The role will develop and maintain systems to support and ensure the Adult Survivors Program and other PARVAN programs and projects are culturally safe and will have a particular focus on ensuring the further development of the ASP draft program model and statewide implementation of that program of work is culturally safe. The role collaborates closely with PARVAN managers, PARVAN’s Aboriginal Policy and Programs Team, and clinical advisers; Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network clinical advisors; and staff in NSW Health services, and in the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Program.
- Health Manager level 5, starting salary from $166,678 - $186,448 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.
**What you will do**
- Lead statewide cultural safety, workforce capacity-building and system improvement projects, in collaboration with PARVAN policy teams, to improve the health response to Aboriginal people and communities’ who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect.
- Lead the development of cultural consultation and advice, cultural supervision, and training to Aboriginal staff in Violence, Abuse and Neglect Services and programs and other Adult Survivor Program staff and senior service staff in health districts and networks, where appropriate.
- Provide evidence-based advice to address current and emerging cultural and clinical issues in service responses to Aboriginal victim/survivors of violence, abuse and neglect including adult survivors of child sexual abuse.
- Support PARVAN managers and senior clinical advisors to develop and implement consistent and coordinated policies, practices, systems, models of care and reporting processes that are culturally safe.
**About you**:
- We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or practice credentials such as in Aboriginal Health or Psychology or Social Work or Counselling (3-year degree or equivalent) and/or extensive experience working in Aboriginal Health; Violence, Abuse and Neglect Services; and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
- Experience in planning and leadership of health, social or community services or organisations including providing cultural supervision and training to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff.
