**Your role**:
Using a team approach, the Family Services Practitioner will;
- Provide an in-home family casework service, working in partnership with families to achieve their goals, aimed at enhancing child/children’s development and family functioning.
- Take steps to reduce risks to children’s safety and wellbeing and other family members.
- Work with families to empower them to manage their life situation and to take charge of their lives, including a positive engagement with their community
- Work collaboratively with Child Protection, other professionals and families’ broader social networks to ensure a coordinated support package is in place.

**About you**:

- Experience or knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- Family Services aims to support parents to ensure the social, emotional, educational, health and developmental needs for their children are met
- Experience in active engagement of vulnerable children, youth and families and delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes
- Experience in conducting risk and needs assessments, and developing and implementing action plans
- Skills in case management, including developing community linkages
- A commitment to working with vulnerable children young people and families who have experienced trauma

**Qualifications**:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline at degree level or diploma level with experience relevant to child welfare

- SCHADS Level 5, part time ongoing role.
- 0.9, 4.5 days per week or 9 day fortnight.
