The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Family Violence Principal Practitioner has a primary aim to strengthen the skills and knowledge of Family Violence Practitioners within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and build a family violence centred practice culture in line with the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework. The Family Violence Principal Practitioner will inform and develop the implementation of continuous improvement strategies for the MCV response to family violence, whilst also providing support and leadership to Family Violence Practice Managers and Practitioners across Victoria. The role will also play a critical part of the wider reform implementation of family violence services in Magistrates' Courts across Victoria.
About you
**You will have**:
- Extensive leadership experience in the family violence sector, including significant experiencing in supervising and leading teams for successful achievement of program gaols and tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and high-level communication skills that support the capacity to lead and develop staff.
- Expert knowledge of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework and Information Sharing Schemes.
- Demonstrated understanding of the specialist family violence sector and other community resources and services.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in social work, psychology or related area.
