**About the Role**

As an Associate Director Sustainability, you will input into the design and delivery of programs to manage increasing community expectations and volumes of inbound engagement. This includes developing proactive engagement strategies and initiatives in relation to social and environmental issues including the impacts of climate change and natural disasters on our communities, consumer affairs, philanthropy and Indigenous reconciliation action.

You will also coordinate cross functional projects across the bank, enabling integrated planning and coordination of engagement activities across Sustainability, Communications and Government Affairs.

**What you'll be doing**

**Your key accountabilities will include but not be limited to**:

- Support the coordination of sustainability programs, ensuring good communication and reporting flows across teams and with broader governance processes
- Manage key partnership activities including being the main relationship contact for external non-profit partners, ensuring timely delivery of agreed activities, managing an internal working group, external stakeholder relationships (academia, NFP), collaboration with other teams, internal and external communications and engagement
- Partner with the business divisions to mobilise colleagues to engage with program activities such as volunteering, giving and advocacy
- Coordinate and monitor a project plan and key deliverables, including governance, budget, reporting and impact measurement processes for relevant activities
- Flexible assistance on other social impact priorities as needed.

**What you'll bring**

To succeed in this role, you will bring professional experience working in a similar role ideally with experience gained across multiple sectors) coupled with unwavering drive and motivation to succeed in fast paced, at times ambiguous and complex environment and have:

- Tertiary qualified (Science, Engineering, Commerce, Sustainability, Environment, Communications or other relevant degree)
- Professional experience in Corporate Sustainability, Philanthropy and/or Corporate or Non-profit partnerships
- Proven background in Corporate Affairs is essential
- Strong experience in leading teams is desirable, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Exceptional written and oral communication and advocacy skills
- Strong ability to manage complex projects across multiple teams
- Strategic planning and execution; and measurement and evaluation skills are desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills (internal and external)
- Subject matter expertise in responding to natural disasters and building environmental and/or community resilience is desirable.
