**Position Information**:
Warners Bay Public School (430 enrolments, including 34 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) is situated on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. We currently have 19 classes, including two multi-categorical support classes and a class for students with Emotional Disturbances. Our staff are a dedicated team of professionals, who collaborate to achieve excellent results for all students. Focus areas for the school are literacy and numeracy, student voice and evidence-based teaching practices. The school utilises Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) to ensure consistent behaviour expectations across the school. The school community highly values extra-curricular activities, including dance, drumming, guitar, band, sport, and aerobics. Warners Bay Public School is a proud member of the The Bay Community of Schools and the Kumaridha AECG. We have a supportive Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) who actively contribute to the school.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience in providing leadership and quality teaching and learning for students with Autism, Multi Categorical, Intellectual Disability and supporting students with complex physical, behavioural, sensory and mental health needs.

Highly visible, inclusive and collaborative leadership skills with demonstrated expertise in complex team management, conflict resolution processes and the ability to manage the performance of individuals and teams including school learning support officers.

Demonstrated understanding of curriculum and assessment for students with special needs from K-6 to engage them in rich, differentiated learning programs.

Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills to sensitively and actively engage with families, paraprofessionals and external agencies to create and deliver individualised quality teaching and learning programs for students with complex needs.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
