**About the Role**
As the Head of Department (Clinical Nutrition), you will spearhead our nutrition programs in higher education, guiding a talented team of practice-based clinic and curriculum coordinators, facilitators and teaching staff. Your role will involve shaping the strategic direction of the department, ensuring that our clinical nutrition practices are at the forefront of natural health, and fostering an environment of educational excellence and engagement for our students.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Clinical Nutrition Department, including managing staff, setting departmental goals, and evaluating performance.
- Quality: Develop the quality of teaching and learning to maximise the effectiveness of teaching strategies, course delivery and student engagement.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies to advance the department’s clinical education objectives, in alignment with the College’s vision and goals.
- Program Development: Design and oversee clinical nutrition programs and services that meet the highest standards of evidence-based practice and patient care, for student engagement.
- Integrity: Guide and oversee student management processes to ensure a high level of academic monitoring and integrity to support students, and to maintain academic success, while adhering to academic policies.
- Innovation: Promote and lead initiatives in clinical nutrition, staying abreast of emerging trends and integrating innovative practices into our programs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to natural health and to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Education & Training: Facilitate ongoing education and professional development for departmental staff and contribute to external educational initiatives and partnerships.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all clinical practices and programs adhere to regulatory standards and ethical guidelines, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
**About You**
- A record of academic excellence evidenced by an outstanding contribution to teaching at a tertiary level in the discipline represented.
- Extensive practical/clinical experience in nutrition.
- In-depth understanding of current clinical nutrition research, trends, and best practices, as well as familiarity with relevant regulatory and ethical standards.
- Evidence of successful academic leadership including a proven ability to lead, motivate, team-build, manage, mentor and develop staff a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- A demonstrated commitment to students and student learning.
