**Introduction**:
The Position
The main function of the CNC Tooling Build Technician is responsible for the assembly, selection, maintenance, and management of cutting tools and fixtures used in CNC machining operations.
You will be previous experience in Cutting Tool Technology, Supplier Management and Budget Awareness, along with a keen eye for quality, continuous improvement mindset, with the positive view to support the overall manufacturing schedule. With a safety-first focus, the key deliverable will be on first time right manufacturing, reducing quality control issues. Working as part of a team and being a positive communicator will ensure that we are building a collaborative work environment.
A trade qualification - Cert III in Mechanical Engineering, Toolmaking or an equivalent field. Proven experience in cutting tool selection, maintenance, and inventory control will have you succeeding in the position.
This position will require a police check and pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screening to be undertaken during the recruitment process.
**Description**:
Your Day | Your Week
Oversee the tooling location and availability of tools, working closely with the CNC setters
Collaborate with Engineers and Machinists to optimise cutting tool usage & efficiency
Perform routine maintenance & repairs to ensure a consistent performance
Liaise with cutting tool suppliers and evaluate new products
Use precision measuring instruments to verify tooling dimensions & tolerances.
Inspect tools and fixtures to ensure compliance with machining & quality standards.
Monitor tooling usage and inventory levels, including budget and cost saving identification
