We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

**Your new role**

We are currently seeking a proactive individual to join our Housing and Homelessness Team as a Housing Support Worker (HSW) Metro Melbourne on a part time fixed term basis (6 month period) for 30 hours, each week.

Your fortnightly roster will be as below:
Week 1: Monday (0830-1630), Wednesday (0830-1630), Thursday (0830-1630), Friday (0830-1630)

Week 2: Monday (0830-1630), Wednesday (0830-1630), Thursday (0830-1630), Friday (0830-1630)

The Housing Support Worker (HSW), also known as the HHS Worker, will be a member of the Housing and Homelessness Support (HHS) team in Metro Melbourne. The position may support various funding models (i.e. CCB (Community Capacity Building), HSA (Housing Support for the Aged), yet the principles of the HSW role will remain consistent.

This position will work collaboratively with the other support workers and teams to ensure a collaborative team culture is maintained.

The position will also ensure that service delivery practices are consistent with Wintringham's philosophy, values and mission.

**Your responsibilities and duties will also include**:

- Undertaking client directed case management regarding access to aged care related services; assist to access to Home Care Packages (HCP) residential aged care facility and the NDIS.
- Assisting client to maintain or find appropriate affordable housing.
- Provide advocacy, referral assistance.
- Responding to client feedback and complaints in line with Wintringham policy and procedures.
- Facilitating and encouraging the engagement of social supports.
- Developing and maintaining relationships within sectors to assist access other services and systems.
- Working collaboratively with the other support agencies, Housing connect, Homes Tasmania and team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for the client.
- Working closely with our tenancy team members regarding the tenants in our managed properties.

- Experience in a support worker role in Intensive Case Management with specific training and/or experience in AOD, Mental Health and Family Violence or Homelessness services
- Proven commitment to excellence, accountability and innovation in best practice service delivery in the fields of homelessness and housing support
- Knowledge of Commonwealth and State government policies, standards, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Commitment to the organisation and its philosophy of social justice
- Well-developed communications skills and the ability to engage with people from varying backgrounds.
- An understanding of the Housing and Homelessness Service sector, My Aged Care, NDIS and other relevant service systems.
- An understanding of MARAM desirable
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Services or a related discipline, or extensive experience working in the homelessness or community services sector (Essential)
- First Aid Level 2 (Essential)
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (Essential)
