**Secondary Numeracy Support & PE Teacher**

**(0.6 FTE Numeracy - Ongoing) & (0.2 FTE PE - Fixed Term 12 months)**

Mansfield Steiner School seeks a qualified and experienced Secondary Numeracy Support and Physical Education (PE) Teacher with the ability to support International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) Mathematics. **Responsibilities**:

- **Develop and deliver the Secondary Numeracy Support Program**:

- Develop, implement, and oversee a numeracy support program that addresses individual learning needs.Utilize diverse teaching methods, assessments, and resources that align with IBDP standards and Steiner principles to facilitate numeracy improvement.
**Plan and Prepare Lessons in Mathematics and PE**:

- Create well-structured lesson plans for mathematics and physical education, using a variety of instructional strategies.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking.Design PE lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for wellness.
**Ability to teach IBDP and Secondary Mathematics (Numeracy Support Focus)**:

- Deliver Main Lessons if required in the secondary school.
- Provide targeted support for students who require additional assistance with numeracy.
- Deliver engaging, supportive mathematics instruction.Integrate numeracy skills development across secondary levels, incorporating elements of Steiner pedagogy and IBDP frameworks for a well-rounded approach.
- **Assess Student Progress**:

- Employ formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress in numeracy and physical education.Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and skill acquisition, aligned with both IBDP and Steiner educational principles.
**Support Individual Student Needs**:

- Recognise and respond to individual student learning styles, particularly in numeracy, by adapting instruction and providing extra support, both in and out of the classroom.Promote each student’s holistic development in alignment with our school’s educational philosophy.
**Collaborate with Colleagues**:

- Work with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and a cohesive educational experience.Participate actively in curriculum development, school-wide initiatives, and departmental meetings.
**Parent and Community Engagement**:

- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and fostering a strong support network for student success.Actively involve families in the educational journey, particularly in the areas of numeracy and physical well-being.
**Professional Development**:

- Engage in continuous professional growth focused on Mathematics and Steiner pedagogy integration.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and conferences.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in Mathematics and/or Physical Education.
- Experience teaching Mathematics.
- Currently hold a VIT registration (or able to obtain transfer from another state or territory).
- Understanding of IBDP Mathematics curriculum and Steiner educational philosophy.
