**Disability Support Worker**

Do you like helping others? Are you reliable and interested in long-term employment? Do you work well in a team environment?

We are looking for Disability Support Workers to assist adults who have intellectual and cognitive impairment. Successful applicants will need to support or instruct clients in:
1. Life skills (e.g. cooking, budgeting, sight words, hygiene, social skills)
2. Creative pursuits (e.g. fine arts, performing arts, hobbies, DIY)
3. Educational activities (e.g. numeracy, literacy, cultural studies, music prac and/or theory)
4. Fitness programs (e.g. sport, dance, active games)

Suitable characteristics or personality traits for this role include kindness, patience, vitality, initiative. Workers must also be prepared to assist with personal care as required. In addition, employees need to understand the Australian way of life and be fluent in the English language.

Although experience is not essential, we are always pleased to hear from applicants with experience in disability support or teaching. **This role would be well-suited to individuals wanting a career in human services.** Our preference is for applicants available three or more days per week.

Employees should also be willing and able to:

- Help with transport (driver’s licence required)
- Provide community access
- Implement programs and personal plans
- Problem solve
- Be a positive role model.

Positions are based at our day centre in **Mansfield, Queensland** (4122). 'Blue Card' and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or 'Yellow Card') are required.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $28.95 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- Mansfield, QLD 4122: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
