**About - Student and Scholarly Services**
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff
**About the Role**
As The Early Childhood Educator (Diploma), you are responsible for providing the highest quality of education and care for children aged 2.10 months to five years, consistent with ‘best practice’, and according to the requirements of the National Quality Framework and National and State curriculum frameworks. You will work in conjunction with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the centre’s operations. You will ensure professional documentation is undertaken for all children and is reflective of requirements within the National Quality Framework. You will engage children in meaningful learning opportunities within an inclusive environment, always mindful of promoting the children’s agency or choice.
Responsibilities include:
- To advise and inform the Early Childhood Teacher or Centre Director of relevant matters pertaining to program development, the needs of individual children and any issues that may impact on the operation of the early childhood service
- To work as an enthusiastic team member to provide a responsive environment that supports children’s wellbeing, relationships and learning through intentional teaching, partnerships and critical reflection
- To maintain Children’s portfolios, drawing on the Early Years Learning Framework, theorists and early childhood pedagogy
- Collaborate with team members to develop and establish learning environments that are sensory rich, aesthetically pleasing and challenge and extend children’s learning and play
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have advanced information technology skills, as well as excellent oral & written communication skills. You will be a passionate individual who strives to engage with children on their level within various environments and to meet the physical care and needs of children. Your organisational skills will assist you in multitasking, consistently responding to competing needs and to have a smooth structure in place throughout your workplace. You are enthusiastic when it comes to working and taking responsibility for teaching young learners and can always maintain a professional attitude within your role.
You will also have:
- An approved early childhood educator qualification as approved by ACECQA
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma components
Knowledge and skills:
- Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (0-8)
- Child Safe Standards
- Food Act 1984 (Victoria) and Food Standards Code
