**Your new company**
The City of Unley is a vibrant and dynamic local council that provides a range of valued and diverse services to the surrounding community. Based on the city fringe and less than 4 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD they engage with the community across local business initiatives, community events, arts, environmental sustainability, community services and volunteering programs.

**Your new role**
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for facilitating, enhancing and sustaining economic growth and business development within the City of Unley. You will deliver the suite of activity associated with progressing economic development initiatives, which will involve:

- Providing senior specialist advice and leadership through engagement with Council, the business community and key stakeholders
- Undertaking a high level of research, analysis and monitoring of industry and business conditions, data statistics, trends and policies relative to economic development within the local, regional and broader areas
- Driving key relationships with the Unley Main Streets Association and guiding the Economic Development Advisory Committee
- Managing the implementation and delivery of the City of Unley Economic Development Growth Strategy including the objectives of the Eastern Region Alliance (ERA)
- Managing and delivering strategic projects related to economic growth and development
- Increasing opportunities for the private sector to provide input to and influence economic development within the City
- Increasing external funding for economic development projects or services

**What you'll need to succeed**
The City of Unley are looking for a strategic, self-starter to drive new development initiatives and to foster an environment of trust, collaboration and cooperation with elected members, senior executives, staff and business community members. You will have demonstrated examples of your ability to meet the following criteria:

- Managing the delivery of economic development initiatives
- Proactively identifying commercial opportunities and connecting firms with those opportunities
- Seeking continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of economic development
- Conducting detailed analysis and research in order to prepare clear and concise reports for a range of audiences
- Working on collaborative initiatives, identifying and liaising with stakeholder and industry partners
- Connecting with Private and State Government entities to broaden the scope of economic development initiatives
