**About the role**:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Venues Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring the health and safety of all employees, contractors, sports partners, athletes, officials, patrons, and visitors at SSCT venues. Embedded within venue operations, you will work under the guidance of the Manager Compliance and Risk, the Manager Health and Safety and Venue Managers to provide contemporary, authoritative and fit-for-purpose health and safety advice, training, and guidance.

Your primary focus will be on supporting our operational teams in delivering safe venues, conducting regular safety checks and audits, and driving continuous improvement in the identification and management of health and safety risks, incidents, and hazards. You will also play a crucial role in collating and analysing incident data, developing venue-specific emergency management and risk and safety plans, and contributing to organisation-wide risk management frameworks.

**As the Venues Health and Safety Advisor primary responsibilities will include**:

- Provide health and safety guidance to operational staff, ensuring regulatory compliance through day to day audits and checks and supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures and event risk plans
- Contribute oversight and expert advice in fire and emergency management, including the recruitment and training of wardens, and leading safety drills and preparations across all venues
- Analyse operational data in collaboration with management to support reporting, and contribute to staff training on health and safety responsibilities
- Serve as a key contact for health and safety matters, offering ongoing support and coaching to staff across all SSCT venues

**Required skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in implementing health and safety strategies and initiatives to improve risk management outcomes
- Familiarity with risk management, health and safety regulation and compliance frameworks (experience in the sports and/or venues industries is desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to influence others without formal authority
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
- Sound judgment, personal integrity and the ability to work independently
- Self-awareness with the ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively use constructive feedback
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
