**WHO ARE WE**

PEER is a not-for-profit industry-based organisation, a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and National award-winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited training packages to meet South Australia’s skill development needs.

**POSITION OBJECTIVE**:
The WHS Manager will devise and execute the WHS framework, overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure the establishment of effective systems for managing, controlling, and assessing Work, Health, and Safety across all PEER services. This role ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.

The WHS Manager implements and upholds best practices in work, health, and safety processes and procedures. This includes physically inspecting and evaluating PEER Corporate, RTO facilities, and GTO host sites to prevent workplace incidents and foster a safety-centric culture.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- WHS experience and qualifications (Certificate IV or higher) in a technical trade environment; experience in the GTO/RTO industry preferred but not mandatory
- Accredited in Return-to-Work Coordination
- Demonstrated organisation and facilitation skills, with strengths in listening, comprehension, and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with a range of internal/external stakeholders and regulators at all levels and develop productive working relationships with them
- Demonstrated experience using analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work innovatively and strategically to achieve change management outcomes
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously with high levels of initiative and accountability and as part of a team under broad direction with competing priorities
- Data analysis and report writing skills supported by strong computer skills with experience in Student Management Systems, and Microsoft suite
- Currently possess and/or have the ability to obtain required certifications/clearances (Working with Children, Child Safe Environment, National Police Clearance and White Card)
- Mental Health First Aid Accreditation or equivalent highly regarded.
