**Why Your Role Matters**
The UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (SIEE) leads UNSW’s efforts to make a positive and lasting impact on society, promoting equity and social justice, and driving engagement activities which enhance UNSW’s reputation as a key contributor to society through its research, teaching, and community engagement.
The role is responsible for building positive relationships with key school contacts and confidently communicating the value and purpose to ensure effective engagement with schools and students in the in-school, online and on-campus pre-tertiary educational outreach program designed by Student Equity. The successful person will be providing scheduling, coordination, and communication with the schools to meet necessary ongoing deadlines and key performance indicators of the different programs. Because of the nature of the role, there will be regular travelling involved (there will be mínimal use of your own car - we use GoGet rentals).
The role won’t involve any teaching or facilitation of workshops in front of students - this is done by our UNSW ambassadors; part of this role however will be to assess the progress and performance of those ambassadors.
In addition, you will also participate in the development of action research and program evaluation and support the collation of data and reporting. You can read more about the responsibilities in the job description (attached to the job ad on our USNW official careers page).
**Who You Are**
We are looking for someone who is passionate about equity, who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and comes with:
- Experience within the school system, ideally. This role could suit a schoolteacher or a school careers counsellor with excellent project management and coordination skills. Applicants from the Tertiary and Community/NGO sectors also encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Australian school and University systems and contextual issues for schools and students from low SES backgrounds
- Excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills to ensure positive student and school engagement in the program
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of people
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan, schedule and manage projects within set timeframes and allocated resources
- Demonstrated high level organisational administrative skills and high attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative, solve problems and contribute to the development of evidence
- informed strategies for the work area
- Previous experience evaluating student’s progress would be advantageous, but not essential
- A full driver's licence and the ability and willingness to work outside of normal working hours and work at locations across Sydney and NSW, with potential travel
- A valid Work with Children Check
**Benefits and Culture**: People are at the core of everything we do. We recognise it is the contributions of our staff who make UNSW one of the best universities in Australia and the world. Our benefits include:
- Access to up to 17% Superannuation contributions and additional leave loading payments
- Additional 3 days of leave over the end of the year period
- Discounts and entitlements (retail, education, fitness)
**Applications close**: 27 April 2025 at 7PM**

- UNSW is committed to equity diversity and inclusion. Applications from women, people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those living with disabilities, members of the LGBTIQ+ community; and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, are encouraged.
