The People & Culture directorate is a large team that supports and delivers a range of services to the organisation including Human Resources, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, On-boarding, Staff Care, Payroll and Work Health and Safety (WH&S).

Work Health & Safety provides services to the whole of Barwon Health and is committed to driving a culture of proactive prevention of injury.

**About the role**

An opportunity exists for an experienced OH&S professional to join the Work Health & Safety Team at University Hospital Geelong as a WHS Advisor. In this role you will assist in leading the implementation of Barwon Health’s WHS Management Systems through the provision of support and assistance to managers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and employees.

You will also be responsible for training and mentoring managers, HSRs and employees on Barwon Health’s safety and emergency programs and assist in the development and implementation of OH&S strategies like Psychological hazards to ensure a safe workplace and the prevention of workplace injuries.

As the successful applicant you will need to have a sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards. You will possess high levels of initiative and have demonstrated leadership experience promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture.
