**The Facility**:
This is an acute care teaching hospital of approximately 600 beds, and a tertiary referral centre that provides a broad range of specialist services to the local and regional community. This is the largest public hospital in the region, supporting a population of almost 540,000, with strong links to community-based services that provide continuity of care for patients. The hospital is also the principal teaching hospital of the region with close links to the 17th best university in the world and number one in Australia.

The Department of Medicine manages patients with a diverse range of multiple active co-morbidities or undifferentiated illnesses under the age of 80 years that require ongoing inpatient, ward-based hospital care. A busy inpatient service with consultation and outpatient clinic responsibilities.

**The Role**:
The rehabilitation service is located in a purpose-built ward. You will have good junior doctor support with a Registrar and RMO with the Registrar position being accredited for advanced training with RACP. You will provide clinical and medical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team delivering inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation services to the community. The position will also play a key local representative role in the development of Tasmania-wide rehabilitation and related services.

This a Full-Time Temporary position for 6 months - with the possibility of extension or permanency.
