Structural Steel Fabricator/installer

**About the role**

Fitweld Engineering is looking for a full-time Structural Steel Fabricator and Installer to join our team in Wangaratta, VIC. This role is integral to the success of our engineering projects, requiring skilled fabrication and installation of structural steel components on site.

**What you'll be doing**
- Fabricate, assemble and install structural steel components to meet project specifications
- Read and interpret shop drawings & erection drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation
- Operate welding equipment and other tools required to fabricate & install steel components
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
- Collaborate with the client & in-house engineering team to resolve any issues or challenges that arise
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment

**What we're looking for**
- Proven experience as a structural steel fabricator/installer or willing to learn
- Strong understanding of shop drawings & erection drawings and the ability to interpret them accurately
- Highly skilled in setting-out steel on site
- Proficient in the use of welding equipment and other tools required to fabricate & install steel components
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively towards project completion

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
