**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are looking for a Fresh Produce Buyer to add to our growing buying team. This role will be directly reporting to the MD, CEO and Head Produce Buyer, with your responsibilities including (but not be limited to the following):
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT**:

- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of the fresh produce industry is essential
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in fresh produce buying is preferred
- Experience in buying/dispatch software or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with strong relationship building skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong problem-solving skills
- Ensure stores’ inventory requirements and orders are met daily
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and growers to achieve better pricing and quality
- Analyze sales data, and spot opportunities for growth
- Manage price changes and new products in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Work flexibly with our custom ERP software
- Liaise with the store management team to ensure products are priced and merchandised correctly
- Daily visits to wholesalers - Examine, select, order and purchase products at the most favourable price, consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements and other established factors
- Daily attendance at our retail stores to ensure the produce is optimally merchandised
- Responsible for the management of perishable inventory purchased by daily review of sales, inventory adjustments and inventory quantities.
