Building upon the success of the current business, you will demonstrate your commitment to producing strong financial results, maintaining excellent client relations and supporting staff providing professional development and maintaining our commitment to zero harm.

In a region with an exciting future, you’ll play a role in growing our existing client base, exploring new opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients. The current team holds a very high standing thanks to the successful delivery of projects throughout South East Queensland ranging from master planned communities, high-density developments through to major infrastructure projects.

Thanks to Cardno’s ‘Work Your Way’, you’ll be able to be flexible in how you work, tailoring your individual circumstances in a supporting and trusting environment. Leading 25 staff located across our global headquarters in Fortitude Valley and our Springfield office, you’ll have the flexibility to work between both locations.

As the leader of this high performing team, you’ll also tap into a network of 250 transport and urban professionals who operate across metropolitan and regional locations throughout Queensland, packaging these expertise to market our services to new and existing clients within the area. You’ll also be able to draw upon Cardno now Stantec’s additional 400 specialist discipline professionals located in our Brisbane and Springfield offices.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include
- Providing technical engineering input on projects in the urban, property, civil infrastructure and transport sectors.
- Winning valuable business through the management and development of new and existing client relationships
- Developing and implementing the business development strategy
- Fostering the highest standards of client service
- Ensuring the office meets the agreed financial Key Performance Indicators
- Providing leadership, guidance and support to staff

About you

To be successful you will display
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering coupled with at least ten years’ experience within a senior position
- Professional registration (eg. RPEQ, CPEng)
- Demonstrated leadership experience and an ability to drive a high performing team
- Strong commercial acumen to align performance with overall goals and achieve profitability in an efficient and cost-effective way
- An ability to influence and negotiate through effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed client relations and stakeholder management skills
