Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for Disability Support Workers to join our team on a Casual basis in Lilydale, Mooroolbark and the surrounding areas. You will work alongside an engaged, committed, and expert team to ensure the people we support lead happy and fulfilling lives. You will join an organisation truly committed to the people we support, our community and the people that work with us. **What You’ll do** - Implement support plans based on supported persons needs, preferences and interests - Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night - Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments - Promote personal choice and control for the person - Assist with personal care & hygiene and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing Administer medication **Qualifications and Experience** - A Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (Preferred but not necessary) - A passion for enabling and working with people - Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support - Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training - Willingness to work as part of a team **You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain**: - NDIS Worker screening Check - Working with Children Check - Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License - Car Insurance - Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster Current First Aid Certificate with CPR - We can support you through the process of obtaining these if you don’t already have them. **Perks and Benefits** - Comprehensive training and support provided - whether this is a new industry to you or you have experience, we will provide you will all the support you need to succeed. - Access Not for Profit Salary Packaging - Up to $15,900 tax free per financial year. - Get out and about and connect with your community - opportunities to engage in activities you enjoy. **About Melba** Melba are a well-established, values-based, not for profit organisation providing disability support services for close to 50 years.
