Surfers Paradise, Australia OSAN Ability Assist Full time

Reporting to the Rostering Coordinator and Chief Nursing Officer the Care Services Employee (CSE), is responsible for the delivery of exceptional quality care to Participants and Clients to optimise their health and wellbeing and to ensure their comfort, safety and indepence.

You will deliver care tasks to deliver holistic personal care that meets the needs and preference of our Participants and Clients. You will ensure compliance with all OSAN Ability Assist policies and procedures to ensure clinical and personal care are delivered according to the Paricipants or Clients Care Plan.

You will live the OSAN Ability Assist motto of “_Quality Care with Compassion_” and live by the company values.

Key Responsibilities

**1. To deliver personal care to Participants and/or Clients, in a safe and effective manner that meets their needs and preferences and maximised their health and wellbeing.**
- Provide high quality, professional and individualised support to OSAN Ability Assist Participants and/or Clients.
- Respect and develop professional relationships with OSAN Ability Assist Participants and/or Clients, employees and other related services/people, using appropriate terminology and creating a safe and comfortable environment.
- Provide a high level of physical assistance to our Participants and/or Clients including all aspects of manual handling, lifting, bending, and stretching and physical transfer of Participants and/or Clients. In accordance with OSAN Ability Assist Policies and Procedures.
- Provide assistance with toileting, showering, meal assistance, medication _(if accredited)_, grooming, dressing, household chores and other tasks as required and approved by the Roster Coordinator in accordance with OSAN Ability Assist Policies and Procedures.
- Assisting in daily planning, advocacy, communication and transport as required by the service or the people we support both in their homes and/or within the community.

2. To deliver care services to comply with OSAN Ability policies and procedures.
- Assist Participants and/or Clients to access and purchase items with their own money in accordance with OSAN Ability Assist policy.
- Read and update Participant and/or Client files as per OSAN Ability Assist policy.
- Report all incidents, near mimsses by completing the Incident / Hazard Documentation forms. If Participant and/or Client related a note is to also be added into the Progress Notes. Serious incidents are to be also called through to the Roster Coordinator.
- Report all equipment repare requirements and illnesses to the Roster Coordinator.
- Identify and address any Work Health & Safety issues that arise whilst supporting Participants and/or Clients.
- Develop and maintain positive communication with Participants and/or Clients.
- Assist if required to provide communication support in order for the customer to interact with others.
- Maintain positive and welcoming relationships with families, friends and other service provides of OSAN Ability Assist Participants and/or Clients.
- Communicate verbally any observations that may affect Participant and/or Client activites and the running of the services. These are then to be documented in the Participant’s and/or Client’s Progress Notes.
- Complete Incident and Hazard Forms as required inline with OSAN Ability Policy.

3. To live the OSAN Ability Assist Culture and work according to the OSAN Ability Assist values.
- Contribute to building a positive workplace culture.
- Contribute to maintaining effective teamwork.
- Attend and participate in training sessions, workshops, meetings, reviews and committees as required.

Times of Attendance

All positions are on a rotating as needed basis. OSAN Ability Assist operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year so all employees must understand that they will bwe required to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and night shifts.

Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aging or Disability).
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence (HIGHLY DESIRED).
- Access to an insured motor vehicle (HIGHLY DESIRED).
- Fluent and literate in English.
- Disability Experience.
- Aged Care Experience.
- Community Experience.

Personal Abilities and Attributes
- A kind and compassionate nature with ability to, at all times, deal with sensitive and difficult issues in a professional, respectful and caring manner.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and a responsible approach to work procedures.
- Ability to work under limited supervision, follow procedures and complete set task to an appropriate quality standard.
- Time management skills.
- Good communication skills.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Shift work

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates
