Wood is recruiting for a **Principal Piping Designer / Checker**for an exciting **3-month opportunity for an immediate start**to be involved in our growing portfolio of projects and bring new direction and experience to our existing teams. Based in Perth CBD, this is a contractor role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

Reporting to the Lead Piping Designer, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.

To be successful in this role, you will have prior Designer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements.

**What we are looking for**:

- Demonstrated Experience to drive design teams to deliver Quality design deliverables
- Demonstrated capability of performing the full range of discipline design and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
- Technical associate’s degree or equivalent in education and/or experience
- Demonstrated ability to check piping deliverables
- Self starter with the ability to guide / train junior level designers.

**Expected**:

- Tertiary qualified in Engineering / Drafting
- Minimum of 15 years piping design experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum 5 years in Principal Design role managing project scopes and resources
- Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements
- Ability to problem solve effectively
- Attention to detail
- Competency in **E3D CAD**systems is essential

**Desirable**:
**What will set you apart will be your brownfield experience as a Principal Piping Designer in the Australian O&G offshore facility.**
