**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Property Operations Team is responsible for the facilities management and lease management of our National footprint. The team manage the Whole of Government contract with Property Services Provider Ventia. The section manages the leasing strategy for DEWR and its premises including the hosting of other agencies in our sites. The section manages the department’s vehicle fleet and property capital works projects along with the department’s security access systems and audio/videoing conferencing facilities.
The property officer position will be responsible for delivering property related outcomes for the Department in accordance with relevant legislation policy and contractual requirements and procedures.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Key responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate and up to date space management data (manually) to accommodate any changes Groups/Divisions/ Branch across DEWR and our hosted Department (who shares with DEWR in most of our offices)
- Undertake strategic planning for utilisation of leased footprint due to minor moves and major moves because of organisational changes such as Machinery of Government and Group Restructures and consolidation of leased footprint.
- Management of vacant space including the preparation and provision of data for monthly or annual reports as required
- Planning and management of minor and major relocations
- Managing office accommodation requests through the monitoring of ServiceNow and the accommodation mailbox
- Manage property related procurement relating to minor and major relocations including removalists contract
- Manage stakeholder engagement for internal and external clients including preparation of meeting agenda and minutes as required.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, client subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
- Communicate and Manage office accommodation planning
