The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Midwifery Unit Manager (Midwifery Group Practice) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Support the Midwifery teams across the Gold Coast community venues sites
- Work in collaboration to provide midwifery leadership and operational management of the service
- Be the primary lead on maternity service innovation including the reorientation of services and changing models of care
- Hold line management and cost centre management responsibilities for the MGP unit which include human resources, rostering/staffing, recruitment, payroll and attendance management
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- A Masters or Higher qualification within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
- Experience in senior midwifery positions within a relevant specialty is highly desirable
- Membership, or affiliation with the Australian College of Midwives will be well regarded
- Driver license
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $118 993 - $129 189 per annum
About Us
The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) provides continuity of midwifery care for women in the Gold Coast area. The MGP midwives work in a collaborative partnership with the medical, allied health and midwifery teams at Gold Coast University Hospital. The MGP consists of five group practices that are geographically based and eligible to woman planning an active labour and birth and early transfer into the community. In addition, the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) MGP Care for CALD women including women with Australian Sign Language requirements and the Millerri-Nyumbarlian Goup Practice Care for women with significant mental health, alcohol and drug dependence. This service is based in Southport.
